Victor-Farmington Food Cupboard Updates

Last year the VFFC was proud to provide 600 Thanksgiving Baskets through the support of the local Victor, Farmington and Canandaigua Communities. The past two years have brought on new challenges and obstacles for every one of us. Please read more of this letter from the food cupboard about changes this year and how you can help here!

The Victor-Farmington Food Cupboard is also in need of volunteers! These positions and their required skills can be found here.

Thank you for your continued generosity and support!

FPOC Host Week!

Hello amazing Family Promise friends! I trust you are enjoying your summer with family and friends and life seems a little more normal! Thanks to all who donated to the Amazing Bed Race! We raised over $30K and will help tremendously to fund our ongoing programs and family support.

First Presbyterian Church in Victor’s next scheduled host week is August 22-28, and in lieu of in church meals and overnight accommodations, we are requesting food gift cards be purchased at Wegmans, Tops, or Wal-Mart and dropped off or mailed to Family Promise 185 N. Main Street Canandaigua 14424, attn: Jay. Family Promise currently has 3 apartments in Canandaigua and 2 in Geneva for family housing and gift cards are much appreciated!

Thanks again for all you do to help needy families in Ontario County!

Maggie’s Kids Camp Day

Once again, this year First Presbyterian Church in Victor is fortunate to be able to host a camp day for Maggie’s Kids. It will be a day of games, swimming, arts & crafts music, and we will be providing good food at Onanda Park in Canandaigua on Tuesday, July 6th. The joy volunteers get from seeing the smiles and hearing the laughter of approximately 100 children experiencing fresh air, sunshine and freedom to play outdoors without fear is amazing.

What can you do?! There are a couple ways you can get involved!

Volunteer!

1.       Volunteers are needed to assemble bagged lunches on Monday, July 5th, from 7-8:30pm at the church in Corey Hall.

2.      Volunteers are also needed for Tuesday, July 6th to deliver and serve the food at Onanda Park. Please plan on a 9:00am start until approximately 3:30pm.

Please use this SignUpGenius link to sign-up to volunteer!

Donate!

Our church has been asked for food and supplies for bagged lunches. Please use this SignUpGenius link to sign-up to donate food and/or supplies for the day. All donations must be collected at the church by Sunday, July 4th. (Monetary donations are also accepted and appreciated for this Mission)

If you have any questions, please contact Heather McAdoo at [email protected]

Thank you for your time and generosity for this important mission!

VFFC Food Drive!

Location: 6548 Anthony Drive; Victor, NY 14564

What: To prepare for the summer months, the Victor Farmington Food  Cupboard will be hosting a drive through food drive on Saturday June 19,  2021. *diced tomatoes and tomato sauce

*whole grain/low sugar cereals

*low sugar granola bars

*meals that can be eaten without cooking (Hormel compleats, Chef Boy R Dee, soups with pull tabs, mac and cheese cups) for homeless individuals. *small Gatorade bottles

*small water bottles

If you prefer to place an order online and have it send to the food cupboard, here is the link to their Target registry.

Victor-Farmington Food Cupboard News!

The Victor Farmington Food Cupboard finally found a larger space to call home! We will continue our drive thru operations on Sundays and Wednesdays through August and will be serving people out of our current location until July 15th. After July 15th we will be located in a building on Anthony Drive that we will share with Mozzeroni’s Pizza.

We are deeply grateful for ongoing partnerships with the Davis Family(Alex P Davis Memorial), the Cobblestone Guild, the Artchetko Family (Otto Tomotto’s), the American Legion, Farmington/Victor Kiwanis Club, Victor Farmington Rotary, the Victor Central School District, Frank DeFelice and the town and village Chambers and Local Development teams of both Victor and Farmington. We will be posting shout outs to other partners who have continued to support us through this pandemic despite canceled fundraisers and stressful changes in operations.

We are most grateful for the Victor Farmington Community all the time, but particularly right now. It has been no small feat to continue feeding an increased number of folks who suddenly found themselves without incomes. Thank you for your checks, your notes and your food donations at our popup food drives! We continue to need this support and could not have continued without all that kindness. Words are not enough to express the gratitude.

In August, we will host a drive thru “housewarming party” so that you can see where we are and we can thank you in person. Please watch this page for more details!!

On Tuesdays this summer, the Food Cupboard van will be in back of the First Presbyterian Church in Victor from 7:30 am to 7:00 pm to accept any donations of fresh produce (are you overwhelmed with zucchini yet?) as well as any unexpired canned or boxed food.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊
